Shadow Language
Nominae quam ideae.
Names rather than ideas.
Shadow language refers to an ever-changing goalpost in the use of language. This came about when I was discussing various topics with friends of mine in the San Francisco Bay Area, most of whom are staunchly on the Left. I would generally characterize the Left as being more interested in terminology than philosophy (likely a result of large numbers of Holograms1). Words mean what they want them to mean when they want them to mean it.

Both sides of the left/right discourse have a significant number of these types; the Right generally doesn't have the sneer of "intellectualism" that the Left fancies it has, though, so they get picked on here.
